Edgric was not enjoying himself. Thunder and raindrops filled his ears and dampened his spirits, a difficult feat to do for a fellow like him. He trudged through the damp forest looking about, his cloak clutched close to keep the warm in. His once bushy mustache now drooping soaked.
He moved slowly through the mud, slippery trees were never fun to fall from. His destination must of hid behind this fog somewhere.... Where was he going again? Oh yes, Redwall Abbey. He had heard of it a few days ago from a band of woodlanders. From what he gathered it seemed welcome and safe enough, especially from this miserable storm.
The grey squirrel found himself on a path, leading to a gate surrounded by large, red walls. "This must be the place!" He exclaimed as he doubled his pace to the sanctuary in the storm.
Marching up to the great wooden doors, Edgric reached his paw out from his cloak braving the few moments to knock on the doors. "Pardon me, goodfolk of this Abbey, would you please be so kind as offering shelter to a poor, lonely squirrel in the dreadful weather!"

Foremole Dru served as gatekeeper next to his foremole duties. He had been having trouble sleeping lately, due to back problems that weren't helped by the soft gatehouse bed.

"Thank ye, my good fellow," Edgric said as he stepped in. He took off his hat and loosened his cloak as he shivered and shook the water from his fur ,"Ah...". The squirrel looked around, "Where to good sir? Lead the way, I am the stream in your wake."

"Oakstead, Edgric Oakstead. And I'm from just that, an old oak in Mossflower, a ways off from here. Not quite sure where it is from this place, been so long since I seen it. Though I suppose if I follow my nose and spirit I'd find it again." Yet it had been a long time. Aye, he had traveled Mossflower quite a bit, but really he tended to miss details on the in between of their stops as his journeys with the minstrels.

Dru tugged his snout at Edgric and trundled back to the gatehouse. He blinked against the rain beating against his squinted eyes, "Moi beds been gettin' hurder to get oot of lately." He muttered to himself.

Edgric nodded, a fine mole that one. He followed his directions to the dormitories and entered. He wondered if anybeast would be awake at this hour, he would enjoy getting to know some folk before falling asleep tonight.
((OOC: If anyone wants to they can have a character in the dorms, otherwise we'll assume that Edgric went to sleep.))

Dari sighed, the Redwallers were all upside-down and backwards. Imagine sleeping at night! But he had consented to the Redwaller's wishes, and attempted to sleep at night. But here he was, lying awake late into the night. He would regret this later. He got out of bed and shuffled to the door. A walk around the abbey might tire him out enough to finally go to sleep. He jiggled the door open and stepped into the hall.

Sitting in the kitchen was an old, wide awake wildcat, Felixius couldn't sleep so he had decided to get his recording duties up to date. So sitting in great hall sipping mint tea and eating heavy dumplings (a special favourite of his) was when Felixiuswas aqquainted with the soaking wet, strange squirrel "hello!" said the homely wildcat with a wide grin "welcome to redwall!"
